NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser | REVIEW

I never thought I would willingly go and buy a tinted moisturiser, because I feel like my skin needs a fuller coverage. It's covered in acne and scars, and patches of redness scattered around my face. But during the winter, my skin was feeling super dry, but was surprisingly clear looking. So I thought, while my skin is looking so good, I'll treat myself to the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moistuiser. I've heard many good things about it from all over the web.

Upping My Brow Game

Up until 3 years ago, doing my brows was never part of my makeup routine. They matched my hair colour, the shape of them was neat enough to never be plucked or waxed, and I just didn't have any idea of how to maintain them. Then I decided to change my hair colour. I went from an ashy dark blonde to a slight warm medium brunette. Now, my eyebrows are lighter than my hair, which means sometimes it looks like there are none at all. That is when I started to take notice and start to fill them in. I've only ever got them shaped once at that was last year, my eyebrows aren't the perfect shape but they're neat enough to leave alone.

Euro Trip 15/16

November can not come any faster for me, I finish my last semester, and then, EURO TRIP! I have been saving my butt off for the last 3 years, working all the days nobody wants to work, a.k.a. every public holiday. Now finally the time has come where all that hard work has paid off and I'm going to be spending 2 months in Europe between the end of November and the end of January. Here is the terrifying part, I'm going solo. Initially, my plan was to go with a few friends but they either kept changing their minds on what they wanted to do or they would not have enough money even though they were spending it on some useless things. So I thought, screw them, I'm going on my own!

While I've Been Away . . .

I have been absent for a few months on here. Life has been quite hectic lately and I didn't want my blog to suffer, but it did. I'm my last semester of uni and I feel like I live at university these days. If I have any spare time, I've been working because I'm going on a holiday at the end of the year! I'll go more into depth about my holiday in another post but I'm so excited.

August Playlist | 2015

August has been one of the most stressful months of my life so far. Uni went back, and it was straight into performances and assessments. The blog has been put on the back burner at the moment because any spare time at the moment has gone into organising my holiday or catching up on some well needed z's. There has been some really good music that has come out in the recent months including some new Mag Mac stuff and the Jungle Giants new album. Hope you enjoy!

I'll Let You In On A Secret . . . .

I have been on the hunt for the perfect concealer to help cover my blemishes and acne scars. Some are either to cakey, or some tend to dry up and highlight my imperfections. But after much research, I decided to bite the bullet and invest in the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer. I have seen many people rave about this, including the amazing Lisa Eldridge, and I went and got coloured matched to the lightest shade which is SC-1.

It comes with two colours which you are supposed to mix together to create your perfect shade. One is more yellow toned and the other is a peachy colour. To be honest, at first I didn't like this. I found it hard to work with and I was struggling to get the right mix of colours with a brush. So I decided to use my fingers, and my life changed. I find it much easier to work with when I'm mixing the colours with my fingers. It makes it super easy to blend out the concealer and I feel like I have more control than when I did with my brush. It covers blemishes like nothing else I've dried and it doesn't make them dry or look cakey.

If you are looking for a product to cover up any imperfections, give this one a go. It may not be the cheapest product on the market, $49 AUD, but to me it's worth every cent.

Mini Mecca Maxima Haul

I recently worked an extra 24 hours at work the other week, and I got a big pay slip! Most of that money went into my savings for my Euro Trip at the end of the year, but I thought I would treat myself with a few things from Mecca Maxima.

My Mecca Cosmetica Beauty Loop Box | July 2015

I just so happened to be in Mecca Maxima, when they released the new Beauty Loop boxes! I had no clue that they were out that morning because I didn't check my emails, but maybe I subconsciously knew it was there. I am super impressed with this months box, usually there are skincare samples, but I love getting makeup ones! Just for reference, I'm a Level 2.

Empties #7

Another 2 months, another empties post. This month's empties are mainly skincare and body stuff, with a little bit of makeup. Last empties was bigger, I think in the last 2 months, I got a lot of new products. Also, sorry about the terrible quality of the images, the day I was taking them, there was hardly any natural light So without any further ado, here are my empties.

Hello, Is It Me You're Looking For?

I never thought I'd see the day where I would love body lotion. But here I am, declaring my love for one. I hated body lotions, the thought of slathering my skin with a thick lotion and feeling like I've been dumped in a vat of cream still makes me shudder. But everyone seemed to rave about this "Dream Cream" from Lush. So I bought a smaller size to see what all the hype was about. And I have never looked back.

MOTD | Mauve It Up

Using mauve shades in my makeup lately has been my new obsession. I've never really been into mauve shades before but something has changed in me! The eyes and lips in this look, I have been wearing almost everyday for the past 2 weeks. I wore this look to one of my friend's 20th birthday and I think it was a perfect simple night time look.

The Nail Files #1

I thought I would start a new series on my blog about what I'm wearing on my nails. I love nail polish but I always seem to forget about it on my blog. So hopefully, I'll remember to do this every time I paint my nails.

This is Essie's "Chinchilly". This kind of colour has been popular in the last few months, I would describe it as "greige", or in actual words, grey beige. I think that it's an easy colour to where and looks simple but classy.

What's on your nails at the moment?

Best Of The Beauty Books

I am a bit of bookworm, not going to lie. I like books about music, history, crime thrillers, chic lit, fantasy, and of course beauty. Lately, there has been an insurgence of beauty books on the market, and I've been so intrigued to see what each one has to offer. I found that a few years ago, most beauty books were just full of step by step instructions. But these days, they offer instil information into the world of beauty, and not just the makeup side.

June Favourites | 2015

So officially, half the year is over. WHAAAAT?! This year has gone by so quickly so far, and the rest of it probably will too. Next moth, I'll be starting my last semester of university, and I'll be going to Europe at the end of November for 2 months! I did a bit of shopping the last month, and testing out a lot of new things so I had a few distinct favourites this month.

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty.

I've seen this tag doing the rounds lately on my Bloglovin' feed so I thought I would put my two cents in. Tags are a great way to see exactly what another blogger thinks, it's almost like having a conversation with them and you're left knowing more about that person. So without further ado, here are my seven deadly sins of beauty!

#TREATYOSELF

As is my usual tradition, I went on a bit of a shopping trip to celebrate the end of the semester. I got a Mecca Cosmetica gift voucher for my birthday, and I had a list as long as my legs of things I wanted to get. But I picked out a few that I've definitely been eyeing out for a long time!

Firstly, I had six items to Back 2 MAC. When you give them six of their products that you've used up, you get a free lipstick! I ended up picking the shade Peach Blossom because I wanted another nude shade and I kept swatching that one overtime I've been to MAC lately.

June Playlist | 2015

June has been such a crazy busy month! I had a few performances but it was mainly the exams that were stressing me out. Now that they're all done and dusted, I've had some time to relax, do some shopping and listen to some more music. This months playlist is very Eurovision. Eurovision was last month and I was obsessed. It includes some of my favourite songs from this year's competition and a few new songs by old Eurovision contestants.

The Parcel by Marie Claire | The Winter Edit 2015

As usual, this season's box is worth the money! I swear, every month there seems to be more and more samples. And the thing is, the majority are full size products! This season's box, Winter, is all about hydration, with a few little goodies in there as well. You get three of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Mask which I think is a new product because I've never seen it before on the shelfs at Priceline. I don't know if it's just me, but I never really see in sheet masks at the drugstore, I've only really heard of the more expensive ones. I'm super excited to give this a go! Also from Neutrogena, you get their Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes. I've tried these before and I didn't enjoy using them, so I'm going to give these to my mum because she uses these ones. The Lanolips Lemonade Lip Aid is something everyone raves about, so now I finally have the chance to try it. My lips are really dry, especially in the winter so this will be good to compare with other products I use on my lips. The Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme Global Anti-Aging Creme is something I'll also pass on to my mum because this is something that is targeted towards her skin more than mine.

Hair Removal 101 With Veet

Hair removal, one of the many banes of my life. Shaving my legs and underarms has become a chore I dread. Luckily, I've only cut myself once and that was because I shaved on dry legs *cringe*. 14 year old Lauren learnt pretty quickly from then on that legs should be lathered up before going over them with a harsh razor. Meet have launched a new informative website helping you to find the best way of hair removal to suit your skin type and your preference. I got sent a few things from Veet to try out and let you know what I find best for me and maybe you can find something for yourself.

May Playlist | 2015

I have been so busy lately, than my blog has been a bit neglected. I have exams coming up soon, so hopefully I can schedule a few post, because I miss blogging. So I've gathered up some of my favourite songs from the past month that have helped me through long days at uni and busy weekends  of studying.

I've been loving Florence's new songs lately and I can't wait for the new album. Also, the same goes for Tame Impala, the song "'Cause I'm a Man" has been my jam for the past few weeks. Enjoy!

My Mecca Cosmetica Beauty Loop Box | May 2015

I always get so excited when I see an email in my inbox from Mecca saying by box is ready to pick up. I've never been disappointed with one of these boxes, they always deliver and the samples are so different each time. I am currently a Level 2, and this is what I got in my box.

I am most excited to try the GlamGlow Powered Dual Cleanse Treatment. It's a mix between a mask and a cleanser which should be interesting. Glamglow products aren't cheap so it's good to receive a sample. Also, this smells amazing! Another thing that is raved about is the Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter. I rarely use body butter because my skin isn't really dry and I find it a bit of an extra step I don't need when I come out of the shower, however, I am excited to see what all the fuss is about.

REN products are some of my favourites, so I'm keen to try the REN Keep Young & Beautiful Instant Firming Beauty Shot. I've never heard anything about this product, so it should be interesting to see what it does. It seems to be some kind of gel like serum. Another product I've never heard anything about is the Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation. I know serum foundations have been popular lately so I'm interested in giving this a go. However, my experience with self-adjusting bases hasn't been good, as they end up looking very orange on me.

What did you get in your box this month?

Empties #6

Even though some people don't find them interesting, empties videos and blog post are some  of my favourites to read. Because people have finished the product, they can give a full, honest review on the product. So without further ado, here's a in depth review of my trash!

Makeup

Australis Make-up Finishing Spritz - I didn't really like this product, but the smell was nice. I just found that it didn't do anything in terms of pro-longing makeup and keeping it fresh. Would I repurchase? No.

MAC Prep & Prime Beauty Balm - This was my first purchase from MAC, but it wasn't one I was happy with. I wanted to come out with a foundation but the lady persuaded me to get this. I found it to be too heavy, but it didn't have the best of coverage either. Also, it made my skin go oilier faster than usual. Would I repurchase? No.

Garnier BB Cream For Oily Skin - This was my favourite base for lazy days. It has a runny consistency, and covers well. However, even though this is the lightest shade, I found it looked a bit orange on me. Would I repurchase? No.

Revlon Bold Lacquer Length & Volume Mascara - I was excited to try this mascara, as the last one I had tried from them was amazing. However this just felt heavy on my lashes and they clumped easily.  Would I repurchase? No.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - This is a good lightweight brightening mascara for under the eyes. It was great for everyday use. Would I repurchase? Maybe.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Pure Primer - I really loved using this primer. It had a silicone feel to it and made my foundation glide nicely over the top. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Maybelline Master Shape Brow Pencil - I think this is a good affordable eye pencil. But I seem to go through these really quickly which is strange. Would I repurchase? Maybe.

Body

The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel - Body Shop shower gels are my favourite shower gels. They lather up so well, and the scent lingers throughout the day. This scent smelt amazing and reminded me of my childhood. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Kit Body Wash Pomegranate & Pink Grapefruit - I didn't like this at all. It didn't lather well and the scent smelled like a cleaning product my mum uses. Not a fan. Would I repurchase? No.

Anatomicals Night Time Hand Cream - This felt really greasy on my hands and there was still residue in the morning. I did like the scent however. Would I repurchase? No.

Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel - The scent of this confused me. It's got a fresh citrus scent, but also a musk smell which was a bit overpowering. Would I repurchase? No.

Burberry Brit Sheer - I bought this when I first went to Europe in 2011. It's not my favourite perfume ever, but it was good for everyday wear. Would I repurchase? No.

Lush Volcano Foot Mask - A few months ago, my feet were in terrible condition (TMI?), so I thought I'd give them some TLC with this mask. I feel like this didn't do anything amazing, and it smelt so bad! But I think my feet did like that extra attention. Would I repurchase? No.

Skincare & Haircare

Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes - I haven't been using theses as much lately, but these are just so gentle on my skin. They are great for days where I don't have a lot of makeup on, and I'm feeling a bit lazy. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Neutrogena Make-up Cleansing Towels  - I really didn't like these. They irritated my skin and they felt really dry. Would I repurchase? No.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash - It took me ages to uses this up because I really hated this. It sucked all the moisture out of my face and I didn't feel like it did anything for my acne. Would I repurchase? No.

Formula 10.0.6 Get Your Glow On Brightening Mask  - This mask is so much fun because it's a peel off mask. Sometimes that can be a bit messy when it gets caught in your hair. I did notice my skin was a bit brighter but nothing spectacular. Would I repurchase? Maybe.

REN Rosa Centifolia Cleansing Gel - This is such a great cleanser! It's not stripping like some gel cleansers can be and it's so gentle on the skin. My face feels so refreshed after using this. Would I repurchase? Yes.

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Just the usual dry shampoo, handy for that third day after washing where you just can't be bothered. Would I repurchase? Yes.

2 Hits And A Miss From Max Factor

Max Factor is one brand at the drugstore which I never seem very interested in. They're products weren't widely talked about on blogs or YouTube, and their prices are at the higher end of the drugstore. But lately, they've had a few new releases that have been catching everyone's eye, so I'd though I would try them out for myself.

The Hits

The Max Factor Facefinity Primer was so hyped up in the blogging world for a long time before it reached Australian stores so I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this to the aisles of Priceline. This is one of the primers that I can rely on to keep my makeup in place all day. Some times if I'm wearing my makeup for a long period of time, I do have to blot my face but the makeup is still like it was when I put it on which is fantastic.

I never thought I'd be a blush person. I used to despise it and now I own 5. Crazy how minds can be changed. One blush that has become my obsession over the past month is the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve. These have been described as a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes and I would have to agree on that. They look very similar in the pan and both have that finely milled texture to them. This one just add a subtle hint of colour to my cheeks and a glow, and it's the only brush I've been wearing since I got it!

The Miss

I was so excited to try this mascara, the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara, as the brush looked really funky. Also, a lot of people seem to rave about Max Factor mascaras and I've never tried one before. However, after the first coat on my lashes, I immediate disliked it. There's something about the formula that I really don't like. It's a very thick formula so it's difficult to brush through your lashes and feels really sticky. Also, I found it did nothing spectacular to my lashes. This mascara was definitely a disappointment.

My Top 5 from LUSH

I am a self confessed LUSH lover. There, I said it! Ever since being introduced to the brand in late 2013, I've been obsessed ever since. Their range of skincare and haircare is so wide, so no matter what your concerns are, they can cater for you! I've bought a mix of bath bombs, skincare, haircare, and body care, so I've tried a big range so I thought I'd share my top 5 products! *in no particular order*

Seanik Solid Shampoo Bar
This is one of their solid shampoo bars which at first, I was a bit skeptical about it. I thought it would be so difficult to get the product to lather and transfer to my hair. But it turns out it's actually quite easy. I just rub it in a few circles on thew top of my head and the rub in the lather. It lathers quite well and has a sent that is almost exactly like the Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub, probably because the ingredients are very similar. It makes my hair feel a lot softer and adds a bit of body to it as well.

Roots Hair Treatment
Towards the end of last year, I noticed that my hair was looking lot thinner than usual. I've always had really thick hair so I wanted to try a mask to help my hair out. It has mint in it which helps stimulating your scalp to encourage hair growth and I find a difference after I use this in my hair's appearance.

D'Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap
This one is newer to stores in Australia, and I was curious about this product. It just replaces your regular shaving, and it smells better and it's pink. It probably isn't the most necessary product, unless your sensitive to regular shaving creams, but I love it. It leaves my legs feeling smooth and they don't feel irritated after cleaning all the product off.

Tea Tree Water Toner Water
This is just a regular spritzing toner but I feel that it does help to sooth my skin. I always spritz this on my face after taking off my makeup and cleansing my face. It's refreshing and the tea tree in it helps yo sooth any breakouts on my face.

Golden Wonder Bath Bomb
Now this is a Christmas product, so it is only available from late November to the end of December. But when it comes out, you must get your hands on it! I have three sitting in my bathroom cupboard because I couldn't let myself be without it for so long. The scent is hard to describe, it's warm citrus-y scent that is perfect for winter, which is ironic because when this comes out in Australia, it's summer. It turns your bath a sparkly turquoise and you always feel super soft after a LUSH bath.

What are your favourite products from LUSH?

MOTD | My 20th Birthday

On Good Friday, I turned the big 20. I am now an official adult which makes me slightly terrified. I can no longer blame my silly actions on my teenage self, because that period is officially over. I don't feel like an adult, I still feel 18. Partly because overtime I go to a bar, I spend 5 minutes at the door with the security guard looking back and forth from my ID to me going "Really? Are you sure?". The struggles of a baby face. I had family over for a chilled out day and chocolate cake, so I went for an amped up everyday look.

To prime, I used the bareMinerals Prime Time Neutralising Foundation Primer which is a yellow-toned primer which is great at correcting my skin, which means I can use as little bit less foundation. I then buffed in my NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc which is my one of my favourite foundations. To conceal blemishes, I used NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla and for under my eyes, the MAC Pro Longer in NW15. To set it all, I used the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light which is great at setting my makeup but not mattifying it and letting the finish of the foundation come through. The only blush I've been using at the moment is the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve. It gives a sheer glow to the cheeks with a subtle hint of colour, I'm obsessed!

To prime my eyelids, I used the NARS Smudge Proof Eye Primer and to neutralise the base I used the MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. I used my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette to create my eye look. I cannot for the life of my remember what colours I used but it was something really simple. I've been loving the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Corrupt because like it's name, it glides on so smoothly. For mascara, I used my trusty Clinique High Impact Mascara and for eyebrows, I filled them in with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Whiz in Soft Brown. For my lips I used MAC Lipstick in Mehr which a blue toned neutral pink which is slightly darker than my lips.

March Favourites | 2015

Well we're already a quarter of the way through the year, holy moly. I've been back at uni for over a month now and I've been so busy. I've never been this busy before so it's quite overwhelming. I've been trying to cut back on spending as I'm trying to save for a trip to Melbourne in the middle of the year and a trip to Europe at the end of the year! So I haven't been getting a lot of new things, after that big haul I did, so I'm trying to use up a few of my old things before I buy new bits.

Makeup Favourites

I was on the look out for a new mascara a few months ago, and I thought I'd get a Maybelline one because everyone seems to rave about them and I've never tried one. The Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara stood out to me and I've loved it since day one. I feel like this definitely does give plush lashes as they look a lot fuller than normal. One thing that was huge in the UK when it came out was the Maxfactor Facefinity All Day Primer. I was so excited to see it at Priceline and bought it immediately. It is amazing at keeping foundation on all day. It doesn't really keep the oil at bay but my foundation does not slide off at all. I'm super impressed with this.

I finally caved and bought the MAC Pro Longer Concealer which everyone and their mother seems o rave about. And I love it. It's really similar to my MAC Select Cover-Up Concealer but with more coverage. The only problem is the pump dispenses too much but I can roughly control it, using my focus face! The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light is like no powder I've used before. It's sets my makeup so well, but doesn't alter the finish of the foundation. It also seems to balance out my skin tone which is amazing. I'm definitely hooked on this and I've got my eye on the Ambient Lighting Wardrobe.

Other Favourites

In terms of music, I've been obsessed with Loreen's new single Paper Lights. Loreen is amazing, she was the winner of Eurovision in 2012, and I've been obsessed with her ever since! For TV, I've been watching That 70's Show from the beginning. I think it's a show that no matter when you watch it or in what order, it's always going to be funny. Kitty, Eric's mother, is just the funniest, I love her! Also, I've been rewatching all the Captain America movies and the Avengers one getting ready for the next Avengers movie. I am in love with Chris Evans! Ugh, he is so beautiful! Hopefully you understand me!

What have been your favourites this month?

MOTD | Les Miserables

About a month ago, I went to see Les Miserables with my Mum and my Aunty. Les Miserables is probably one of my favourite musicals, and I love the film. Eddie Redmayne as Marius, swooooooon! Anyway, I thought I give a few new products a go, and used all of the above items. Except my foundation, which I forgot to put in the picture! Oops!

Firstly I primed my skin with the bareMinerals Prime Time Neutralising Foundation Primer. It gives a hint which helps to counteract redness and evens the skin out. For foundation, I used my trusty NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Mont Blanc. I like using this for nights out because it has no SPF. To conceal, I used MAC Prolongwear in NW15 for underneath my eyes, and MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20 for blemishes. To set that all and give a bit more coverage, I used MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in C2. I used MAC Melba Blush as it gives subtle hint of colour and goes with any eye/lip combo. This blush is definitely a staple in my collection and would be great for anyone starting out with blusher. I then sprayed Urban Decay's All Nighter Setting Spray to make the makeup last longer.

I filled in my brows with the  Too Faced Bulletproof Brows in Universal Taupe, which is similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade. For my eyes, I primed with Too Faced's Shadow Insurance and evened out the colour with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. I dug into my new  Lorac Pro Palette and used these shades; Cream all over the lid, Taupe in the crease, Nude  in the inner corner, Gold on the centre of the lid, and Pewter  on the outer corner. I'm still learning when it comes to fancy eye looks but I thought I did an alright job. I lined the eyes with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Corrupt. This eye pencil goes on so smoothly, I'm in love! When Urban Decay launches this week in Australia, I'll be picking up some more colours. I coated my lashes with Benefit They're Real Mascara, which does NOT budge. To finish, I used the Australis Velourlips in Doo-bai, which is such a beautiful colour.

March Playlist | 2015

There have been some great new releases in the past month in terms of music. A new florence song and an album on the way too. Loren has a new single and it's fabulous as expected! Mumford & Sons released their new track and NO BANJOS! WHAT?! It's gonna take me a while to get used to their slightly different sound but I'm still digging it.

I hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I have! Let me know your favourite songs at the moment in the comments below.

A Huge Haul + ShopandBox Review

Well I think this is the biggest haul I've ever done.  My wish list was getting long, and I had some extra cash from working extra shifts on my holidays. I ended up choosing to get my products from America because it's a bit cheaper and there are some things aren't available in Australia. I had previously bought things through Shipito, but I found that the service was terrible. They had so many extra fees, and so many problems actually just trying to get the products. So this time I was on a hunt for a better shipping forwarding service.

I ended up going with ShopandBox. My experience with them was amazing. You put all the products you want on a wish list, and they'll pick a shopper that best suits your order. They are always communicating everything with you so you know exactly what is going on. My shopper would help me in getting the best value out of my order which was great. And the shipping was super quick. Another good thing is you're able to get things from multiple stores, and they'll combine it all in one package.

I would definitely recommend ShopandBox if your buying things overseas. They don't just ship from America but a few European and Asian countries too.

Have you tried ShopandBox, and what are you're thoughts?

The Parcel by Marie Claire | The Autumn Edit 2015

For some reason, I totally forgot to get last season's Parcel by Marie Claire. And it was a good box too! So I made sure I remembered to subscribe this time. This is their Autumn Edit, and it is definitely worth the money. What I was most excited about was the Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara which has had good reviews so far, and I love the look of the wand. The Rimmel BB Cream Radiance, is something that hasn't hit stores yet. I probably wouldn't have picked this up as anything that says radiance sends me in the other direction, but since I got it in the box, I give it a go. Also, everyone was saying they got the shade Medium, which would obviously not suit me, but luckily I got the shade Light! Another base product is the Garnier Skin Naturals Miracle Skin Cream. This looks interesting as it comes out white and then matches to your skin tone, so I'm really looking forward to giving this a go.

Everyone needs makeup wipes, so I was happy to see a small pack of Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. I've never tried Nuetrogena ones before so we'll see how they compare to my trusty Simple ones. Another handy thing to get is the Schick Hydro Silk, because I actually razors on my shopping list but I don't need to get one now! The  Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate, is something I'm going to give to my mum, because it's more suited to her skin. I'm excited to try the L'Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream in Zesty Lime. This is apparently one of the greatest hand creams, so I'll see if it lives up to the hype. Also, it really does smell of fresh limes. I'm not to sure about the MOR Emporium Classic Snow Gardenia Triple-Milled Soap. The smell is really strong, and not my kind of scent. I might give it to my Nona.

Did you get this season's box? If so, what did you think?

My 2015 Reading Challenge

As I talked about in my 2015 goals, I wanted to read 40 books this year. To some people that doesn't seem like much but for me that's a lot. I used to be so into reading and I go through a book a week. But as uni got busy and I spent more time on my laptop, I didn't read for a while. But his year, that's going to change. I use Goodreads to keep on top of what I'm reading and to track my progress. I also love seeing what my friends are reading and it gives me inspiration on what to read next.

So far I've read 5 books, which means I'm behind schedule. At the moment I'm reading two books, one for leisure, and one for uni, which means it's taking me longer to get through them. But when I get days off from uni, I know I'll catch up. I love reading at night because it helps me relax, and it's much better than staring at a screen before you go to bed which stimulates your mind.

It's never to late to start the challenge! Add me on Goodreads, and get reading!

Maybelline Colour Drama Instant Velvet Lip Pencils

I'm totally obsessed with lip crayons. They even have their own compartment in my makeup collection. Lucky ducks. I had been itching to get my hands on these ever since they were released in the UK, and finally they're here down under! I picked up the 2 shades Berry Essential, a deep berry shade, and Red Essential, a true classic red. You can see these watched on my lips below. Also, I wasn't intentionally trying to get my lips and shirt to match in the first picture.

Berry Much
Red Essential

These were so easy to apply on the lips. They're creamy and easy to sharpen to get a defined point to help with precision. I didn't find them too drying on my lips which is good, but I suggest just using lip balm before and blotting it off before you put the colour on. And for $9.95, you cannot go wrong. With 10 shades in the range, I'm sure you'll be able to find the one for you. I still love my NARS ones but this is a great drugstore option.

Have you tried these yet, and what are your thoughts?

My Mecca Cosmetica Beauty Loop Box | February 2015

I just love going in to collect my Beauty Loop Box from Mecca Cosmetica every 3 months. I'm always intrigued at what samples we will get this time, and I'm never disappointed. Just for reference, I'm at Beauty Loop Level 2.

Firstly, I got the Korres Fig Shower Gel. I've always wanted to try one of their shower gels, and now I have the perfect opportunity. I also got the Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment, which was in a previous Beauty Loop Box. That sample I gave to my mum, but I'll keep this one to try out. I ended up giving my mum the Kate Somerville Anti-Aging Treatment, because it's more suitable for her. Another sample from Kate Somerville is the Kate Somerville Self Tanning Towlettes. I'm not sure if I would use this because I don't tan, but I might give it a go later on in the year when it gets colder so I can cover up the disaster with pants. Lastly, I got the  Mecca Cosmetica False Lashes. The packaging is so luxurious for false lashes and I can't wait to try them out because they look so natural.

What did you get in your Beauty Loop Box?

Empties #5

Another 2 months, another empties post. I love reading empties post because you really get to know how the person got on with the products as they finished them all. This month I finished off a few makeup bits which was exciting. So I hope you enjoy!

Makeup & Nails

NARS Radient Creamy Concealer - You can see how well loved this is. As I was coming to the end of it, I dropped it and the top broke, but it revealed all this hidden concealer under the top, which meant it lasted for a whole other month! I love this concealer, it just does such a great job at multitasking. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Sally Hansen Double Duty Base & Top Coat - This was great as it was both a base and top coat. I didn't finish it but it got too goopy and became to hard to be able to properly coat my nails. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer - This was the first primer I ever got, when I was getting my makeup done at Napoleon Perdis for my Year 12 Ball. It was a good primer but I think I've found better ones now for my skin. Would I Repurchase? No.

Benefit The Porefessional - Everyone seems to be divided on this. Some people say it's their holy grail while others hate it. I was on the fence. It was good, but it wasn't great. I didn't really find a difference with using this to my other primers. Would I Repurchase? No.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer - This concealer was great. So easy to use and it didi really well at covering dark circles. Also, it didn't crease. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid - I love this foundation! Not only is it pale enough for me but the coverage is great and sits well on my skin. I'm not going to repurchase this year because I have to finish other foundations, but I definitely will. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Rimmel Winder'Full Mascara With Argan Oil - This was a good mascara but it wasn't great. I loved the brush but the formula was really wet, and I found it transferred to under my eyes during the day. Would I Repurchase? No.

Clinique Quickliner For Eyes Intense in 01 Intense Black - This was my mum's but she gave it to me because I needed it for a costume for my halloween concert. After I used it, the product inside broke so I couldn't use it anymore. It was good, but there are other better eyeliners out there. Would I Repurchase? No.

Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish Powder Foundation - This was another product I got when I was getting my ball makeup done. It was good, but then I found other powders that worked better for me. Would I Repurchase? No.

Haircare

Batiste Dry Shampoo - This is a standard in every empties. I particularly love this scent. Will I Repurchase? Of course.

Cynthia Sylvia Stout Beer Shampoo - The scent for me wasn't the greatest but I could see and feel a difference with my hair. It made it a lot softer and helped combat the frizziness as I dry my hair naturally. Will I Repurchase? Yes.

 Bodycare

Soap & Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel - I didn't really like the scent of this. I think I prefer the fruity ones but it was nice and creamy. Would I Repurchase? No.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel - This is probably my favourite all time shower gel. The smell is amazing, it lathers up really well, and leaves me feeling squeaky clean. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub: Ugh, this scent! It's just so great and perfect for a morning wake up. Also, the actual scrub aka the important bit, is great. It's not got fine granules which is good because I want a heavy duty exfoliant. Will I Repurchase? Yes.

Harajuku Lovers Perfume in Love - This was my first perfume. It was one I used on special occasions. What's funny is for my last birthday, my friend got me another one and she didn't realise I had it but it's great that I have a back up now. Would I Repurchase? No.

Skincare

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes - Just the standard in every empties. These are really gentle on my face and there is no irritation after. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Lush Tea Tree Water - This is such a great toner. I use it by spritzing my face with it after cleansing, and it soothes the face. Also, along with this product, I've noticed a difference in my skin. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover - This is so great at taking off my makeup. It doesn't irritate my eyes like other oil based makeup removers. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser - I love this moisturiser and I already have a replacement one. It didn't leave a residue on my skin and I feel like it's improved the clarity of my skin. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Aesop Control Gel - This was a nice gentle gel to put on top of my spots. It soothed them and didn't dry out the skin surrounding them. Would I Repurchase? Yes.

Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes - I had high hopes for these but they didn't work for me. They stung my face and didn't wipe off the makeup. Because the towels were so moist, they just swished the makeup around my face. Would I Repurchase? No.

What have you finished up recently?

The First Haul Of The Year

So I actually accomplished my goal for the month of January; no new makeup! So of course I treated myself to some makeup. Which doesn't make sense, but anyway. I had my Priceline voucher to use and there were a few other things I wanted to get.

First up on my trip was to go to Priceline. I picked up two Essie Nail Polishes in the shades Buy Me A Cameo, a rose gold colour, and Chinchilly, a taupe. There was a 3 for 2 deal on Maybelline, so I picked up a new Maybelline Brow Drama and two of the new Maybelline Intense Velvet Lip Pencils in the shades Red Essential and Berry Much. I'm so excited to try these out! Also, we finally got the Maxfactor Facefinity Primer which I'm super happy about. I have high hopes for this little fella!

Next was Lush. I was on a mission to find something to help maximise volume as my hair is very limp. The lovely lady suggested the Sea Spray to add more volume and texture to the hair and the Seanik Shampoo Bar to add volume. I'll keep you posted on my thoughts of those things. It seems that the spray gets mixed reviews, so I'm interested in how it works out for me.

Of course, there was a trip to Mecca Maxima. Both of these things were on my shopping list for the day, so I didn't impulse spend in there. I picked up my second tub of the Origins Ginzing Moisturiser which I love for my skin, and the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub which is my favourite body scrub I've tried so far! The scent is to die for, and refreshing, which is good for the morning hen you need to wake up.

Lastly, was MAC. This was a bit of a treat for me. I intended to get the Russian Red Lipstick as it has been on my wishlist for a long time. The MUA was so lovely there and was having a chat to me about my makeup, and she recommended the Pro Longer Concealer. I caved and got it as I hear so many rave reviews about this concealer so I wanted to see what the fuss was about.

What have been your latest purchases?

Pinterest Love | Dream Apartment #1

Images via Pinterest

I think everyone dreams of the day they fly the nest and move into their own home or apartment. If everything works out this year as planned, I may be doing just that next year and moving to Melbourne! Then hopefully London! I definitely see myself living in the city so I have my sights set on a cosy little apartment. Obviously, I am on a student budget so my apartment will not look like the ones above, but that is why the board is call "Dream Apartment". I use this board on Pinterest to pin pictures of interiors of homes to collect ideas on what I want my future dwelling to resemble.

I love slanted roofs with windows like this one. It is definitely more of a European thing, as I don't see a lot of buildings here with roofs like that. It just makes for a cosy corner. As you can see, I like a white palette. As I have now, I want a white comforter so I can then add pops of colour where I want to. Of course, as a treat when I move out, I'll be getting some Aesop hand soap. Why not?! I think it might be a bit risky for me to get a white sofa. I'm just so messy and I sure it will get stained by the end of it's first week of use. I love this grey sofa, as it still comforts to the black/white colour palette I'm aiming for.

My New "My Lips But Better" Shade

We will all be on an endless search for our "my lips but better shade". One that enhances out lips and has the right formula, which feels natural. I've discovered a new favourite. It's the NARS Lipstick in the shade Dolce Vita. It is one of their sheer formulas which makes it a perfect everyday colour. It's described as a dusty rose and it enhances my lips, by evening the colour and making them look healthy. So if you're on the look out for a shade like this, I'd highly recommend this one. Also, I love the packaging. NARS packaging is just so sleek, and the product inside is worth the money.

What is your current "my lips but better" shade?

MOTD | 2Cellos' Concert

Last week, I went to the 2Cellos' concert here in Perth. If you haven't heard of them, they are a pair of Croatian boys who play the cello, but they play contemporary music and it's brilliant! I bought the tickets for my mum as her Christmas present but I was just as excited to go. I was lucky enough to meet one of them, Luka, before the concert and a pedestrian crossing! He was very friendly and introduced himself and we had a good little chat. After the show, I went to get my things signed and he remembered my name and that I play the flute! That made my year!

For my makeup, I went for a simple look with a bold red lip. For primer I used my Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights in  Pink Light as a primer to give me a bit of a subtle glow. Then I put on the NARS Sheer Glow foundation which has such a good coverage but feels so lightweight. My concealer combo was the Maybelline Age Rewind for under the eyes and the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for my blemishes. To set it all, I used my MAC Studio Fix Powder, which adds a bit of extra coverage. I bronzed up my face using  The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in shade 01, and used MAC's Melba Blush which gives a hint of colour but nothing too overpowering.

To prime the eyes, I used the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer which I'm trying out, and so far I'm loving it! For eyeshadow I used the Everyday look form the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette which was a Christmas gift from my aunty. I didn't want to do anything major with my eyes as I wanted to have all the focus on my bold lip. My favourite mascara recently for nights out has been the Benefit They're Real Mascara, which doesn't budge and gives full, strong lashes. To finish it off, my bold lip of choice was the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, which is a true scarlet red.
