My Morning Skincare Routine

Skincare is something that I have realised over the past year is probably the most important thing you can do to help your makeup application. I have been trying a lot of things recently but I have stuck to the same products now for about a month so I thought I would share them with you.

My morning skincare routine is pretty simple. In the morning I am a bit of a zombie so the easier it is to follow the routine, the more likely I am going to do it in the morning. My cleanser depends on the time I have in the morning. If I have little time and I'm in a rush, I have a litre bottle of the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser in my shower. This cleanser is great because it's so gentle, gets all the dirt off you face after your sleep, and doesn't strip the skin. If I have more time on my hands, I use the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I love how this turns from more of a balm to an oil, I feel like it gives a good cleanse without sapping the moisture from my face.

For toner, I use the La Roche Posay Serozinc, which I picked up in Paris. I have really see it make a huge difference but I find my skin is slightly less oily throughout the day and makeup goes on smoother. Then onto moisturiser, I love the Origins Ginzing Moisturiser. I think this is my second or third tub of this stuff. It's a great light moisturiser for any skin, except maybe really dry. My skin feels really hydrated when I use this without feeling to heavy. Over the top I sometimes use the Mario Badescu Racial Spray for some extra moisture before makeup application.

Stay tuned for my nighttime skincare routine coming up soon! What do you use in the morning?

  1. I really want to try the Mario Badescu face spray, Serozinc is one I use all the time when my skin is a little more blemish-prone as I love mists but it can be hard to find one that's not aimed more towards dry skin

    1. The Mario Badescu one is good, but it's nothing revolutionary. I really wish they did more catering towards more oily skin, because as you said, they are almost all for drier skin. x
