A Holiday Makeup Haul

After getting back from holiday on Friday night, I have finally finished unpacking. By unpacking, I mean that everything is out of my suitcase just not back in it's original place. oops. But fingers crossed, I can motivate myself to do it before I go back to work tomorrow. I spent 10 days in New Zealand on a road trip with friends, becoming one with nature and adventure, I crawled through a cave in water to see glow worms, hiked up a extinct volcano, and luged down the side of some mountains. As you may or may not know, I am definitely not an outdoor person, so that 10 days was pretty full on and exhausting. So 4 nights in Melbourne by myself to relax and shop was a nice end to trip.

I had saved up some money over the past few months to be able to be spendy on my holiday and I had a lost of things to get, mainly things that I had wanted for a long time. The first stop was Sephora,  aka the mothership, and I had a long list of things to try and test out. But they were out of stock of most of the things that I had wanted to get; the IT Cosmetics CC Cream, the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder, the new Marc Jacobs palettes, the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, the list goes on. It was a bit disappointing but I think my bank balance was relieved.

I picked up the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara which is a mascara I have been wanting to try for a long time. The packaging is a bit gimmicky, but everyone seems to rave about it so I added it to my basket. The Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation is another that has been on my list for a long time, so I got colour matched and added that to my basket too. The shade range for this is pretty good as my shade is not the lightest. Lastly, on my way to the checkout I passed the mini aisle, and I spotted the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Moonstone. I've wanted to try this for a while to mix in with my foundation but I've never wanted to buy the full size in case I didn't like it.

Next stop was Mecca Cosmetica. One night I had tickets to a classical music concert and I also had a free makeup application to use at Mecca so I used the concert as an excuse to use it up. So I ended up buying a few of the things that the makeup artist used on me. Two things from Hourglass, the Ambient Lighting Edit and the Vanish Foundation. The palette is something I have been lusting over for a long time and finally bought it. The foundation is a relatively new Hourglass product but another one that was on my wishlist. I fell in love with the finish over the foundation and the way it wore throughout the night. So naturally I had to buy it. The makeup artist used the new NARS Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer in Laguna which looked so nice on my skin, much better than the original Laguna looked on myself. Lastly, she used the Stila Stay All Day Liner in Dark Brown to create a flick and I loved the way it looked. It wasn't harsh like black liner and paired well with the bronze smokey eye I had. Also, I never got my birthday gift on my actual birthday so I got my birthday gift a few months late.

Last stop was MAC. As we don't have a pro store in Perth, or one that I know of, I wanted to get a few things that are found only in pro stores and online. Firstly, I wanted to pick up a few eyeshadow pans to add to my pro palette. I got the shade Blanc Type, which will be handy to set my eye primer, and All That Glitters, which is the only eyeshadow I've used up so I wanted to get it to put in my palette. Another pro item I picked up was the Pro Conceal and Correct Palette in Light. I love the Studio Fix concealer and I've been wanting a concealer palette for a while. The Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara is another mascara that is raved about that I wanted to get, it has a small wand that would be great for my small eyes. I got another of my favourite powder ever, the Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, and I picked up a new lipstick that I definitely did not need, in the shade Antique Velvet.

Let me know if you've tried any of these products or if they are some of your faves.
